Obese Female Child
Obesity is a growing disorder in adults and now also in children mostly because of the lifestyle the parents adopt. The cause of obesity is usually overeating, but it can also be genetic or another medical condition.
In adults, obesity can also be due to stress at work, home, financial and/or marital problems and, while the child can overeat due to stress, too, usually it is the life style that the parents adopt that make the child either eat the wrong diet or simply eat too much.
As parents, it is very hard, if not impossible, to tell your child that he or she is eating too much due to which reason we, as parents or grandparents, often indulge and allow the child to have treats at the wrong time, eat junk food that has empty calories that turn into fat and/or let the child eat as much and as fast as he or she likes. Here is how this disorder affects an obese female child and how you can help her get back to her normal life.
Treating An Obese Female Child
Girls are usually more sensitive then boys, they are more conscious about their silhouette and appearance because society often sees girls as slender instead of overweight. Therefore, the first thing that a obese female child will deal with is other children treating her differently because of her excessive weight and that will affect her drastically, making her not want to socialize with other children. It will make her feel stressed and she’ll want to eat even more foods that contain the comfort factor and that will add to her weight even more.
Parents, of course, don’t judge their kids’ appearances, they instead focus on the most important aspect when it comes to an obese female child and that is her health, which will deteriorate fast if the parents don’t take preventive steps right away.
If you have anyone in your family that was or is obese there may be a chance that your child may have those genes, so, next time you are at the doctor’s office, ensure you check and see if your child has a predisposition to obesity. The next step to take, if your child is already obese, is to get her on the right diet and exercise plan and that, too, must be done only with the doctor.
Other Issues Of Obese Female Child
Obesity in children is especially difficult because their diet must contain certain factors essential to growth, which may also contribute to the weight of an obese female child. The child may also have hormonal imbalances as she grows up, which can further accentuate her obesity disorder. Speak to your child openly in order to work with her to beat obesity; girls, just like boys, will need all the support they can get to deal with obesity, which may unfortunately be part of their life, but fortunately they can treat and control it with determination, the right diet and exercise.
